A MoneyCircles visitor connects with Facebook or LinkedIn to find ‘circles’ they can join. Each Circle is, in effect, a common bond. We use information from their social media accounts to pre-populate an application, making sign-up quick and easy.
MoneyCircles collates social data to support applications from people who have ‘thin’ credit files. Facebook helps verify a date of birth or location. LinkedIn provides details of the applicant’s job. Granting access to a banking app can show that bills are paid on time.
Rip-off lenders offer sophisticated mobile experiences. Meanwhile, credit unions are held back by outdated technology. MoneyCircles provides a mobile, ‘friction free’ experience for new & existing members, helping grow loan books and reduce operating costs.
"The average age of a credit union member in the UK is now 47 and rising."
World Council of Credit Unions
"The sector’s loan to asset ratio fell from 73% in 2005 to 46% in 2015."
Bank of England
"Annual membership growth nearly halved between 2005 and 2015. In the last quarter of 2015, membership grew by just 2%."

MoneyCircles brings together extensive expertise from the credit union and financial technology (fintech) sectors. You can find out more about the team here.
We are passionate about helping credit unions extend affordable credit to those that need it the most. This includes ‘generation rent’ who may have good incomes but cannot borrow from banks still reliant on outdated credit scoring methods.
MoneyCircles is a ‘lean’ company. Like credit unions we know that every penny counts. We pass on savings to our customers by keeping our own costs low.
We think that the key to mutual success lies in treating credit unions as equal partners. Through transparent collaboration we can ensure that our software develops to meet the needs of credit union members, contributing to the success of the sector.
We are currently in the ‘discovery’ phase of our development, talking to credit unions about their priorities and the challenges they face. This ensures that the MoneyCircles software meets member needs and that credit unions get a say in the way the app is developed.
